    Hi there!

I got a NP530U3C (Series 5 Ultrabook) and after some weeks of usage it just boot the Samsung logo, asks the setup password and reboots.
I tried to reset CMOS and remove HDD but it just keeps showing the logo, asks password and then reboot.
Can I try anything else or just send it to Samsung repair?

    Thanks.

We need to figure out whether the HDD is defective or the Windows installation is damaged.

Can you make a bootable Live Linux CD / Flash drive and see if you can boot off that?

Can you access Samsung Recovery Solution by pressing F4 at the BIOS screen (that may include a repair option).

Unfortunately no. Can't go to recovery by F4 and can't boot USB device.

You will need to disable Fast Boot (or similar name) in the BIOS to be able to boot off a USB device. F4 should get you into the Recovery mode but it's possible that you need to disable fast boot to use that command.

It wasn't clear to me that it was wanting a BIOS password - I had assumed that it was starting Windows. If you have got a BIOS password enabled and don't know what it is then it will have to go back to Samsung.

I know the BIOS password, first post does not say that I'm failing on that too.

    Thanks.

You are getting me confused. If you know the BIOS password then you should be able to press F2, F4, F10 at the BIOS screen, enter the password then get to the appropriate bios option.

No, I can't use F2, F4 or F10, it has no effect on boot process. It must be some of the weirdness as reported by other users. Already sent ultrabook to Samsung Repair.

    Thanks.

Bump, how did you solve this? Or Samsung did.

Sitting here with the same issue right now. I've tried close to everything. Thinking about pulling out the iSSD just to get rid of the MBR issue or whatever this is.

    Regards

    Hello numiz, welcome to NBR.

The iSSD is soldered on motherboard and cannot be removed. And what is the MBR issue you refer to?

Can you be a little more specific about what exactly is happening, what led up to it, and what you have tried?
