thanks to a genius on this forum, i now have my vbios overvolted to .92v in 3d state, anyone out there with a samsung series 7 gamer NP700G7C who wants this bios mod let me know. For the record, the vbios is integrated into the system bios, so what had to be done was extract the vbios from the system bios and overvolt it, and then flash the new system bios with afuwin(or afudos), everything went perfect without a hitch, if you want the bios e-mail me at [email protected]

if it is more appropriate to just host the file, reply accordingly and i will gladly upload the bios and post a link.

btw i can now overclock my gtx 675m(stable 100%) to 810mhz core/2000Mhz Memory, and i havent even tried to max it out yet, i just picked those numbers as an immediate goal and they ran without a problem first try through 3dmark vantage, furmark, kombustor and 1hour of gaming

HFM i know that you were hoping that i could put the 7970m in my machine, well i have a 7970m its just when i found out that the vbios was integrated into the system bios i realized that i would have to insert a 7970m bios into the system bios in place of the 675m and then do the mod, so it is 100% possible. the guys at computerupgradeking.com confirmed from personal experience and based on their expertise modifying laptops that the samsung series 7 gamer NP700G7C has a standard mxm slot, and that the pins are 100% standard, its just that you would have to do some heatsink mods to fit the heatsink onto the 7970m, and they said its not something they have experience with and are not willing to offer that as an option because of possible warranty issues.

BTW HFM gets first dibs on the modded bios if he wants it :p

Thx, though your temps def seem much lower than mine. I hit 86 at stock clocks in furmark / kombustor so I'm not sure I can push much further.

EDIT: even though I have a hard surface notebook lap desk, just by lifting the back of the notebook off it while running kombustor my temp while running it dropped into the 70's. I may invest in some small rubber feet to incline it a little. Get various heights to try to get a balance between height and cooling.

    No way!

My max oc when playing BF3 is 730core 1800mem. With a u3 cooling pad @78c
    Can u post a screenshot of GPU-Z when oc'd?
And are u sure your GPU isn't throttling ?
I hit 97c whin running furmark... When oc'd to... My GPU throttles @ 97c...

I hit 81- 82 while playing sc2 at stock clocks and volts without a cooling pad. When i run kombustor it throttles at 90c. I have only done 3dmark11 with 750 clocks but no gaming. I will game with 750 mhz in sc2.

how much of a real world difference are you seeing with the OC? How much of an avg change in FPS are you seeing in some of your gaming? IE is it worth the effort?

    Hi there,

Any one care to share the vbios Overvolt? please...

I was also thinking on installing a 7970M on my NP700G7C but with the whole bios/vbios integration sounds like its a real drag...

Who is still playing around with them bios?

    Thanks for the help!
