    Hello all,

I am using a NP700G7C-S01UK laptop, on which I did a clean install of Windows, together with the essential drivers from this page: Support for NP700G7C

Because the laptop is used for music production, I've avoided installing any of the stock Samsung applications that could interfere with performance (Easy Settings, Mode Shift, etc).

The laptop has run very stably like this for about 6 months.

I've been keeping up-to-date with BIOS updates, but apart from a trackpad driver update dated 8 June 2012, all the available drivers on the Samsung product page (above) are from 26 March 2012.

Are there really no more recent Windows 7 drivers? If updates do exist, is there a way to access them without installing Samsung's update software?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Click the link below, then click on Drivers & Software on the right of the screen.

Thanks for posting, John, but unfortunately that link takes me back to the list of drivers which hasn't been updated since 8 June (or 26 March in most cases).

Yeah, I find the Samsung update software has newer version usualy which is strange, if you can get it to work, we have been having problems with server disconection lately but the newest version of the software seems to be ok, just download it run the scan and then download the updates and uninstall the update software it you want.

But make a restore point before you do anything, but if your notebook is running ok, I would not bother with updates at all, sometimes they make things worse.

Samsung seem to have stopped updating the download lists and rely on SW Update to find the updates for us. However, it is erratic although one of the patches issued recently was to try to fix the server issues. There is a newer and better touchpad driver which you can get here if not offered by SW Update. And read this thread before installing any BIOS update.

    Thanks, both, for the advice.

Does the SW Update utility allow you to download updates for manual installation later, or does it insist on installing them automatically at the same time it downloads them?

It installs them as soon as it finishes downloding them, one update at a time, there is no option to save the file so you can install it at a later date.

Not true any more. The latest version has an option to save the setup files.

If the installer file is not already downloaded then it will be (if the server is working).

Good work Samsung :) , though i have an Lenovo now, and it does not have a software update program at all :( though the budget line notebooks has much better build quality than Samsung, the on, off, on, off fan noise drove me crazy.

I let the Windows 7 update keep me up to date. I will also visit other sites regularly to keep updated with manufacturer driver versions, such as nVidia or Intel..........
