    Hi everyone,

I tried searching on this, but the search function just kept throwing errors. Anyway, I am the proud owner of a new NP700Z5C. I have used it for a few days now and have noticed that the keys seem to mark the middle of the screen a bit during storage.

Is this to be expected? I know other laptops in the past have had issues with this, maybe I need to store it differently? Right now it is in a neoprene case at the back of my timbuk2 bag.

If this is fairly common, how do you guys deal with it? Screen protectors?

    Thanks in advance.

I've had this happen on some other notebooks if they don't have big enough rubber pads to keep the screen away from the keyboard when compressed. Try putting a sheet of paper on the keyboard before you close the lid.

Ive had this happen on my Series 7 Gamer and the marks are scratches in the shape of the keys.

I like John said have put some of the packaging sleeve the computer came in inbetween.

I've noticed the same with my NP700Z5A. No scratches but smudges from finger dirt accumulating on the keyboard and then transferring to the screen when closed. Nothing a quick wipe doesn't fix though.

Ok, thanks for the info. My last laptop was a 17" clunker that I didn't carry around much, just wanted to make sure my lid wasn't bent or something.
