Please help me! I have a np700z5c but when I was cleaning the keyboard, I accidentally lifted the '1' key on the number pad. It came off and I have no idea how to put it back on!

You can try this Youtube vid, BTW I use a wide soft bristle paint brush for that kind of thing.

The video was good and I managed to put it back on. But the problem is that the key is very loose and I don't think the retainer clip is correctly locked in the hinges when I tried to put it back on. The video showed that the clip is supposed to click into the hinges but there's really nothing that the np700z5c that can 'click' the clip.

I know they can be difficult I had to fix one on a HP a few years ago, you might want to take it off again and try to place it once more. It may be that you caused damage to the click while it came off or when trying to fix it, in any case laptop keyboard should be able to hook you up with a new one for around 5 bucks with the vid how to replace it. I know I would pay 5 bucks for help to get it fixed let alone for a new key.
