I have a newer model NP700Z7C-S01UB with windows 8 installed. I actually did a fresh install on win8 but can't seem to get it to stop eating cpu. My win8 desktop uses 0-1% at idle...the samsung laptop uses 8% cpu at idle if I change to the power saver plan, if I do balanced or any other plan it bumps the chip up to 3ghz+ and uses 20%+ cpu constantly. Process monitor shows system interrupt and ntoskrnl as the culprits. This seems insane to have to deal with on a new system with the latest bios. I searched the forums here and found a bios thread, but couldn't find the bios I'd need to get and wonder if it even exists on this newer model.
Does anyone else have this issue....or know if I can even get an older bios for this model? I know the NP700Z7C-S01US (not the UB) has older bios...
Any suggestions from anyone?

I tried 2 different bios from the instructions there....both fail to update on this system which is why I'm wondering if maybe I just have to wait...this really sucks....can't believe samsung is doing this.
NP700Z7C-S01UB Constant CPU usage, can anyone help? Anyone have the same issue on any 17.3 series 7?
