I purchased a 17.3" NP700Z7C-S01UB from Best Buy a week ago with Windows 8 preinstalled. Overall a wonderful laptop given the wight, beautiful screen etc.

I specifically bought the new model as I was hoping that the WIFI issues had been resolved but I am sorry to report that they have not been. The WIFI frequently slows to a crawl and at times simply flat out ceases to do much of anything. I suppose I may just buy a USB WIFI dongle once I figure out which is the best.

The space bar definitely has issues where it frequently doesn't actually leave a space. Given that I use a Logitech wireless keyboard most of the time I guess this can be lived with although it sucks to have an issue like this on a $1400 piece of equipment.

The back lit keyboard is horribly inconsistent, working one moment and then not working with absolutely no change to ambient light.Even in the dark at times it is lit and then not lit while in constant use.

Lastly, even though Windows 8 came preloaded, there still are no drivers according to Samsung support, even though they were supposed to have been released on 10/26/12. I realize 8GB isn't a hug amount
anyway but there are a few programs I'd like to give a boost to and it kind of stinks not being able to do it.

If anyone knows of any fixes for any of these, please feel free to chime in!

BTW...the screen blows the 15.3" screen away on the old Windows 7 unit I had which was also Series 7.

Regarding the drivers, the Samsung SW Update program should find anything new. Samsung are being tardy about updating the download site although this Series 5 page has Windows 8 drivers and software.

Agreed that it should...it's just a matter of when they make them available.

Actually the model number isn't listed in the sw update program, another f'd up oversight on samsungs part. I have the NP700Z7C-S01UB but can only download drivers for NP700Z7C-S01US.

NP700Z7C-S01UB isn't even listed in the app.

When you go to the support site I find it funny/aggravating that you can download drivers for win7/xp but not the OS it shipped with. They really don't have their crap together.
