Hello.
I bought the Series 9 Samsung NP900X3A-A05.
After 3 months the battery went dead. Doesn't work AT ALL.
I bought the laptop in the USA, but I live on the other side of the world.
The local Samsung say they have nothing to do with my laptop.
The Samsung in US say I need to send the laptop to service.
As I live on the other side of the world... that can take up to three weeks. That's 2 weeks and six days more than I can survive w/o my laptop.
Finally reached this page - SAMSUNG's Digital World - Contact Us
But the laptop link there doesn't work.
Although if I get a new battery myself and install it I'll break the terms of the warranty, I don't see many other options, but even when I tried to look online for such battery I couldn't find...
Any ideas?
Thanks.

1. Have you tried running the battery calibration option in the BIOS?
2. If you are in one of the countries listed here then the local Samsung service centre should be helping you.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So that doesn't help as well.

1. It may be that the charging circuit has died, in which case the computer should see the battery. Look at the battery properties using HWiNFO. Does it report any details including a wear level?
2. Then I would be carefully remove the base of the computer (Philips size 0 screwdriver if the same as the newer Series 9s), take out the battery and check it with a meter. Sometimes removal and replacement can fix a connection problem.

The hole that is roughly next to the headphones jack?
Do that with the computer on or shut it down first? -

There's one hole. Without any symbols.
I'l shut down, disconnect and give it a shot.
Will be back to report later.
Thanks! -
Well, big-big thanks.
The small hole thing didn't work so I had to open the laptop, removed the batter and put it back to place and... I'm back on the horse.
That simple.
Used the chance and checked now with HWiNFO and I get 28.6% wear level.
What does it mean? -

Thanks for the update and good news.
1. There might be a sub-standard connection with your battery.
2. The "wear" is the amount of capacity your battery has lost. Run the battery calibration which resets the battery charge chip. The wear may drastically reduce. If not, watch it carefully and get a claim in with Samsung before the 1 year warranty expires (will you be in a location where you can get service before the year is up). One of the X3B owners got a replacement battery because of 28% wear after 3 months. However, 28% wear after a year may be considered acceptable. If you don't need the full battery run time then use the Battery Life Extender option in Easy Settings.

Will run the calibration thingie.
We'll see where it stands after that. -
Lost 1%. I'm on 27% wear after the calibration.
Will see how to replace the battery eventually.
Thanks!
I have one more question regarding the Users/windows start up.
Is it something to post here or should I start a new thread?
Thanks again. -
