    Hi everybody.
I have from few days this new laptop.
I found an extremely slow usb3 transfer speed, in the range of 1 mbyte/s, while usb2 is normally at 30 mbyte/s.

I did a fresh install as soon as I got the pc, so I can't say how was it out of the box. Drivers are the latest and I don't know where to look for to solve this problem...
I even tried two different windows install, one with the included cd, one with a downloaded image, both win7 64bit pro.
I tried different usb driver (from italian samsung, usa samsung, and from easy software manager).

    Help!!!!

    Thanks

Are you seeing this problem with more than one USB 3.0 device. Does it happen with both reading and writing, large and small files?

One possible update to try is the USB 3.0 firmware update that was released on 13th August. (A previous firmware update is embedded in the USB 3.0 driver package).

Hello. I believe it is probably my external hard disk, which is not a real usb3. Infact other usb2 devices works fine on the usb3 port, I will try again when I will have some usb3 device in my hands.

    Thanks

USB 3.0 is still a maturing technology and relies on chips a each end of the link talking to each other efficiently. Recent USB 3.0 devices seem to run a bit faster than those of a year or two ago but even those should be faster than USB 2.0.

One thing to check for is the settings for the external storage device in Device Manager. For speed you need Optimize for quick performance.
