Hi. I bought a NP900X4D here in the nethelands, with the only option being i5 and 4GB RAM. The i5 is fast enough, 4GB just wont cut it.
So im thinking of ordering an X4C from germany from Germany. Anything else I should know other than the fact that the X4D is magnesium is therr any negative in getting an X4C? Seems to be same ivy bridge etc etc.

The internal hardware is the same in both the X4C and X4D.
Your other option is to put another 4GB into your X4D. See here, for example.

Yes, your X4D can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM if desired. Lots cheaper than buying another machine.

1.Im now considering i7 options.
But what confuses me that X4C is even listed as new on the german website with i7 options and x4d being new, but with only i5. Very confusing...i thought C is older. It seems in some markets there are some new C models.
2.Are the Ssds on X4c samsung?

The X4D was released after the X4C but both are still in production. Different versions can have different hardware specifications as ordered by the Samsung country marketing office and, as you have discovered, there's a price competitive version of the X4D with only 4GB RAM (a bit like having a 2 door car at the bottom of the car range).
Regarding SSDs, assume that a 128GB is the Sandisk U100 (maybe 5% chance it won't be) while the 256GB is probably Liteon (very good performer) or Samsung and maybe 1% chance of the getting the U100. What SSD did you get in your X4D?

It says Samsung. You are one of the lucky minority. Perhaps they have finally run out of the U100s but this leaves you with the uncertainty that if you get another model with a faster CPU then it might (if a 128GB version) be slowed down by a U100 SSD. And it doesn't matter how fast the CPU is when the SSD chokes on multiple concurrent reads / writes (which is what happens with the U100). My review here illustrates the problem with the drive while my NP900X4C review shows the overall impact on performance.

Are 256GB SSD Samsung or Liteon, or are something else?

They have mainly been Liteon (very good performer) with some Samsung and one report of a U100.

Windows 8, I presume. My Crucial m4 only scores 7.9 (on Windows 7).
Your memory and graphics scores will improve with another 4GB RAM (mine are 7,4, 6.5 and 6.5).

My X4C on Win 8 also has an 8.1 for hard disk, but my graphics score seems a bit low for 8 gigs of ram, doesn't it? 5.6 and 6.4 respectively.

Yes. I would do a full rerun of WEI since sometimes it can take two or three attempts to get to a consistent score. WEI sometimes gets it wrong. It's a quick indicator that isn't as thorough as the real benchmarking programs.
John -
I reran the WEI test a few times, and it has changed only modestly. For graphics: 5.6 up to 5.8. and 6.4 up a tick to 6.5.

I can't explain why the desktop graphics is low unless Windows 8 has rewritten the rules.
