    Hello,

I'd be grateful is someone could advice my on this matter.

My NX900X4D is my secondary/backup computer, so I have not spent very much time configuring it and learning about all the intricacies of it.
When I bought it I was surprised to learn here that there were reported problems by people installing Linux on this computer. I think it had to do with UEFI and the result was bricked laptops in a few cases.
For some scenarios in the workplace, I would like to boot my computer from a USB-key and load a linux distro.

    1) Would this put the computer at risk similar to when one tries to install linux on it?
    2) Or will the fact that I am booting from a USB-key bypass some 'critical instance' that caused the bricking when installing linux on the laptop?

    Thanks!

My BIOS version is P08ABK (have not updated to P10ABK since I am not having problems).
