    Hi!

After I purchased my Samsung x-360 notebook, I downgraded from the windows vista business edition to windows xp professional.

Back in July 2009, I decided to get the windows seven professional upgrade edition and waited till now to install it

Any advice on how to install windows seven professional edition from the windows xp professional edition is greatly appreciated! Thanks. :)

You can't upgrade to Windows 7 direct from XP. Your choices are therefore to reinstall Vista and upgrade from there or see if the upgrade disc will let you do a clean install. Either way, you need to back up all your user files. I would first try the clean install since it is less likely to collect excess baggage.

You could also use a tool like Zinstall XP7, which allows to sorta upgrade from XP to Windows 7 - circumventing the clean install. You get old stuff in a separate desktop, so it's both a "clean start" and you keep the apps.

I would back everything up though. The reviews are good, but I just don't trust anyone with keeping my stuff safe.
