We got an OLD Sumsumg Laptop NP-R40K003/SHK with
    512M PC2-4200 533Mhz DDR2 SDRAM SO DIMM 200-pin.

Please advise as what memory upgrade path can this OLD R40 be.... Can we replace the 512M with 2x1G ?

Since it is OLD, we have hard time to get info from Samsung site. we would not need to buy another laptop because it still runs our applications well...DO NOT
    NEED SPEED!

    TIA

The R40 specification here shows the maximum memory as 2GB (ie a 2 x 1GB upgrade should be possible).

The SamsungPC.com website may also have other useful files for the R40. It used to be the Samsung UK download site and is no longer updated and, fortunately, Samsung have not closed it yet.
