Yes, AMD CPU and AMD graphics are most likely to be supported by an AMD chipset. There is no chipset driver listed in the downloads so I suspect that it is included in the graphics driver package.

Just a suggestion: You can always install Easy Software Manager and see which drivers it wants to install - and in which order. Even if you don't intend to keep ESWM and want to install everything manually, it can still show which drivers and utils are needed and compatible with your model.

This is exactly what I did, and that's how I installed (or tried) it. Every time I try however, it fails. (See screenshot--it says it's essential.)

In fact both of the drivers that aren't installed failed.

Wow, that IS odd indeed. So much for that advice

Edit: If you forgo the chipset driver (uncheck from the list after you click Essential in ESWM) does the rest install OK?

Why don't you try seeing if the AMD site's autodetect tool can install it on your laptop, it can't hurt seeing nothing else is flying for you.

I did everything everyone suggested. Nothing worked except for the above. I installed the autodetect tool and downloaded one item, but it wasn't one of the items that always failed.

Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it. It must not be too important. Thanks to everyone for all the help.

Me thinks you're onto something here, the stupid thing keeps telling me to download Norton when I bought a copy off ebay and have 11 months left on my subscriptions. Plus what's really irritating is that it keeps telling me to download 2 different Windows 7 patches, I've did so 3 times now and still it shows up as needing to be downloaded.

Does Device Manager show any unconfigured devices? If not, then everything is OK (except Easy Software Manager).

I would note that I have disabled notifications for ESM so it doesn't annoy me with misleading messages. I just run it every few days in case there are any new updates.

It still periodically connects to the Samsung server looking for update, even though you disabled notifications right?

If it does, it doesn't tell me. I have the icon in the notification area which, as far as I'm concerned, is waiting for me to manually run to check for any updates.
