Google has unearthed a link to the Samsung Q310.

The page refers to both the Q210 (12.1" and the Q310 (13.3") but the photos suggests a keyboard with more keys than the current Q70. It looks like Samsung have done a better job this time around.

Notebook.de is listing this Q310 at €999. Available in 1 to 2 weeks.

More Computers are listing this Q70 for £714, eta 28 July.

PS: 23rd July: ETA at More Computers has now slipped to 5th August

The Q310 pricing is coming down .... This looks very good value for £665. The Sony SR may be slightly lighter but is over-priced in comparison.

I really wonder what these people were thinking when they applied the red color.

I've read that the red stripe features on many of this year's Samsung products.

I've no objection to it: It gives the computer some distinctive styling. One benefit is that it might make would-be thieves think twice about taking it.

The bigger complaint that I have read is that the shiny palmrest / keyboard surround is a fingerprint magnet.

It is good they have tried to fix up the keyboard.

I would have still have liked them to have made the trackpad smooth instead of rough but that is just a preference of mine.

I think that the two tone colour is pretty bad i don't really like it.

I think that they should have offered integrated graphics as well although this laptop also seems to offer pretty decent battery life.

It is definitely good value though.

    Edited to add:
In this picture the two tone colour does not look so bad it looks more subtle in this picture maybe this is a more realistic picture? I think that this must be the 12 in version in this picture.

The specs in the back of the user guide list Intel and nVidia graphics as options. Given the impressive battery life reported for the R510 with the X4500, it would be good to see the X4500 offered for both the Q210 and Q310. The Q210 downloads include the Intel graphics driver but, at the moment, this isn't listed for the Q310.

The Q210 and Q310 may also include an empty mini PCIe slot since the Samsung download site includes Intel Turbo Memory software.

Samsung also appear to provide a full set of XP drivers and software.

Until we get some feedback from people who have purchased the Q310 I would assume it is as in the photos but also look at the Q210, which follows the same styling.

    There's also a Q310 (NP-Q310-***1UK) with the P8600 GPU.

Is there anything for that extra money except the slightly faster CPU?

    John

PS: I see the language filter got at the model number. NP-Q310-A S S 1UK
