    Hi guys,

Got the series 9 a little less than a month ago from the MS store. I just realized that passmark battery bar is showing my battery is at 25.2% wear. I downloaded CUPID HWmonitor and got the same value. Anything I can do about this, short of sending it back for replacement?

I have the 80% battery charge feature turned OFF, and always have.

A few values, taken at 100% charge:
    Capacity 29,970mWh of 40,071mWh = 25.2% wear.
Full runtime 4hr 48min - with screen brightness all the way down and samsung optimized power setting.

    any advice?

When you don't need to use the computer for a few hours go into the BIOS (keep pressing F2 when the BIOS screen shows), find the battery calibration (I can't remember which page it is on) and run it. It does a full discharge of the battery followed by a full charge. If the wear is still high then contact Samsung support.

great idea, but I tried F2 during a restart and i didnt see anything in the subsequent screen that led to anything about the battery. can you clarify further? or can someone else weigh in?

    thanks!

I did the smart battery calibration to no avail. I got in touch with Samsung tech support and requested it be sent in for a new battery. The tech tried the "4 hours of battery life is pretty good in my opinion" bit, but I wasnt having it. I said not for these premium laptops. In the end a ticket was made and I sent it in. About 12 days later I have it back and guess what, they put a new battery in and it's fixed. 0% battery wear and around 7 hours of battery life.

The point of this follow-up is to update how this ended up for me, but more importantly, to encourage everyone to pursue things they do not feel are correct, especially when you pay more money for a premium device. At this moment, I am quite happy.

    thanks for reading,
