My wife bought me this laptop for Christmas and gave it to me early( sweet huh). well she wanted it to be all setup for me and she messed up. She partitioned my hard drive to small on C drive (100 gb), 474 on D drive. what is the easiest way to set it bigger?? Reformat?? tell me what is the best way. I would like to keep most of the sony stuff that came on it also. Thanks for your help :)

    1. Did you try Windows disk management? If you shrink D then can you enlarge C?

    2. There are various free partition management programs. You could try this one although I can't personally vouch for it.

However, I would personally be happy with keeping C: to only 100GB. This should be enough space for windows + programs. You then keep all your user files on D which is also where the Samsung backup software puts any backups. Be aware that if you ever run the Samsung Recovery Solution it will replace the entire contents of C.

Actually a 100GB C is a good idea. Install programs on D, and leave C for windows, and other small programs.
This means it will defragment faster, and therefore you will have faster bootup etc.,

Windows takes up to 26gb so it's best if all the programs installed are in the same drive partition. You can however use the 'D' drive for files, pictures, music and videos.
