    Hi everybody,
    I've a Samsung R530 notebook with an Intel Core T3100 @ 1.9GHz, 4Gb RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 310M.
It's a great notebook but it's a little slow in several games and I want to overclock it. I disassembled it and I've found the PLL to use in SetFSB.

The problem is that when I try to change the frequencies of the processor, it's unstable. CPU-Z doesn't detect the changed frequencies, for the further "set frequencies" the PC becomes unstable and freezes after with a BSOD and restarts. Impossible to underclock too with the same problems. By the bay, during the freeze before the BSOD, Skype says that there's an I/O error.
The problem is surely the hard disk. Impossible to open My Computer and see the paritions and the hard disk becomes very hot after several overclocking fails.

I contacted Abo about this case. He said me that he doesn't understand why it doesn't work and that he can't support it...

I thought that the problem may be a hardware blockage as here : Solved - overclocking the HP 2140. Unfortunately it's rather hard to understand it for me.

Is nobody has any idea ? Thanks for you responses and help.

In live in Europe and here we are at ... 2h35 am :)
The stores are closed and I can't get any copper wire until monday. Any other alternative to test ?

If you have 80-pin IDE cable in the house, strip it back and use it's internals.

It's all ? I read elsewhere that a RAM timings overclock by Taiphoon Burner is necessary. Is it true ?
For the IDE cable, no I haven't got neither. I'll look for something same in my own.

266Mhz BSEL mod doesn't need any RAM timing changes. The chipset will take care of it for you. Only if you fo FSLx PLL pinmod do you need to slow timings to accomodate a faster clock.

BTW, about setfsb, try changing bit2 of byte 0. If the notebook freezes when you do that, then we have found the problem.

So please test this and reply with the result.

Change the first register from "41" to "45".

    When I changed the value 41 to 45, there's 2 situations :
    1) The screen becomes black, then the fans begin to turn at 100% and the screen shows following colors in order : white, red, green, blue, gray, gray2, gray 3, gray 4, gray 5, white, black, red,...
    2) The screen becomes black and the fans turns at 100% without change.
It's all. Nothing possible to do in the two cases. The light around the touchpad and the lights of the mouse are always here.

I think that the problem is the PCI-E clock. When I try several times to overclock it with SetFSB, the hard disk becomes very hot after it.
