Looks really nice. For what it's worth: the Australian Samsung sales guy I just spoke with on the phone said the P-series wasn't coming to Australia. But I suppose it is still early days!

    cheers

I really hate it when the keyboard layout has the insert key above the backspace like this one does. I fat finger it so often it drives me nuts.

I have to agree, wish they could distribute here. Very pretty. I think the guys are in trouble. That has a girl's look to it. Even with the masculine titanium.

Any idea if Samsung will be coming out with some new ultraportables with built-in optical drives?

Why in the world do they refuse to sell Samsung laptops here in the US? They sell everything else here..

I am viewing this site on a Samsung 997DF monitor. -_-

Samsung has a special agreement with Dell. They are producing two or three notebooks for Dell which are branded with the Dell logo. This agreement lasts - I think - until 2007 or so. In this time Samsung isn't allowed to sell their own branded notebooks in the US.
The only way to get one it to import it from GB, Germany, Australia or somewhere in Asia.

If you want some webshop adresses, have a look at this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=46492

I really would get one .tom, if it weren't for the power differences here in the USA. We operate off a 120v 60Hz system.

    Europe operates off a 230v 50Hz system.

Oh well, I really hate Dell now. IBM makes a good book though, so it's not all at a loss.

Power is not a problem: Every notebook PSU that I have come across in the past few years has been auto-switching multivoltage, perhaps to make life easier for the global travellers. For example, the PSU for the Samsung X60 is rated as 100-240V, 50-60Hz. I have previously used US-sourced notebooks in the UK without any problem and would expect the other way round to work just as well. All you will need is a new mains lead for the PSU with the appropriate plug.
