Hi, I noticed that some of the 700z users did try to change the language in all of the notebook. For a number of reasons I bought (yet still did not get to) one with a Polish localization. What I am wondering about, since I still have time to try figure out how to avoid any potential trouble (express cache, formatting what i shouldnt, etc...), is WHAT IS THE LEAST RISKY WAY OF AND WHICH STEPS WILL BE INVOLVED IN TURNING MY new Polish speaking notebook into an ENGLISH speaking one (yeah, the keyboard is US already ;-))?

I know one option is to upgrade to Win7 Ultimate - given the price and maybe its greater requirements Id like to find out if there are alternatives.

    Thank you

Reinstall from Recovery disk and see if you can select the language.

Thanks. Is that a conceivable option? Did anyone try to "recover" the system into another language, or specifically to English for that matter?

as you correctly stated, this feature is limited to ultimate and enterprise editions.

but I think you can use your polish key with an english installation disc.

Thanks. Yes, this was exactly the second option I had planned. However, after reading through a couple discussions I got the impression that a clean Win 7 installation messes up the supposed functionality of 700z5a (the express cache functionality in particular).

I dont know whether this had been resolved yet. It appears expectable to me that those having problems with the express cache would try getting all samsung software and drivers to put it back to "original" state under a new windows installation. I am thus confused here about this is the right way ... Although I personally believe it should be.

This is not a 'recovery' into some language, this a recovery of a completely clean OEM installation. You don't need an ISO image or recovery discs for this purpose. Just go to Samsung Recovery, the backup image is stored on a hidden partition on your HDD. Beware that you will lose all your data from system disc. Clean OEM installation lets you decide the languague, keyboard layout, time and date and admin password. After this process there is no option to change the language in this version of Windows. You can only do it during the installation.

Thank you! That is as good an answer as I could wish for.
