So I was having disconnection issues at my friend's house and thought it was my computer's fault so I troubleshooted and some people with a similar problem recommend untunstalling the wireless adapter and then reinstalling it. I did that and reinstalled it and now I can't connect to Internet through that adapter AT ALL. I think setting up a new network was the next step but I had no luck or did it wrong. Please help! I do have a disk to restore my system but I think it has a light scratch and I wouldn't want to risk making things worse.
Here's what it looked like before I deleted it![]()

What can you currently see in Device Manager?
Is the Intel 6235 there or do you have an unconfigured device?

Press Fn+F1 to go into (Easy) Settings and make sure that the WiFi adapter is turned on.

OK. If the Network is controller is there then can't you get it to look for a driver?
If that doesn't work then can you uninstall the device then let Windows search for new hardware?

Once again, missing Chipset drivers would cause exactly these symptoms. Is this the same computer as the one with webcam problems (the other thread)?

I would recommend uninstalling all network drivers that you may have installed, using Windows Programs and Features control panel. Then keep deleting the Network adapter in Device Manager and select Delete the driver software for this device, until you no longer get that choice. Then install the latest Drivers Only package from Intel Download Center.
It is basically the exact steps described in the Drivers section of the post linked below.

If that still doesn't get you going, then we know there really is something wrong with that Windows installation, or possible the computer itself (considering it also couldn't properly detect your webcam).
The only other thing I can suggest (short of a factory restore or re-install) is to delete the ACPI root device in Device Manager and let it re-detect everything after a reboot. (I think it's best done in Safe Mode, but I haven't done this in years.) This is a very drastic step, and definitely requires that you backup your entire system first.
I'll be off tonight and tomorrow. But there should be others here if you post some results.ToonLinkMaster likes this. -
