I have created this poll to show what people want clear and show Samsung if it is following its customers needs or going away from it.
Elaboration on the Poll
As there is a character limit on the polls, I had to miss some important specs.
Option 1 - the older series 9 15 inch as is.
Option 2 - the newest 15 inch ativ book 9 announced on CES,2014
Option 3 - this is IPS matt screen screen with over 14 hrs battery life as it has no touch and 0.6 lesser screen size. The resolution is 1980x1080. The weight should be around 3.48Ibs
Option 4 - this one is a high end alternative. It will have IPS matt screen. Its could be a little heaver than the older series 9 15 inches up to 3.6Ibs. Battery life will be about 9 hrs due to the descret graphics.

This is great idea ,we only need to send screenshot of this poll to multiple Samsung email addresses.Come on people we need votes.
It would be great to have somebody here from South Korea so he can also send there emails.
What do you think where this notebook get designed, who is in charge?andex likes this. -
Mike Abary is deffinitly the man with whom I would love to go on a cup of coffee.
Mike Abary :
IT & Tablet Marketing - Consumer Business Division
* Lead the US consumer division comprised of Samsung Galaxy Tablets, PC's, Monitors, Printers, and Memory/SSD.
This is from Linkedin where you need to have upgrade account in a case you want to try to contact him,his Twitter account was dead on birth. -
Why not the headquarters people?
-
I voted matte FHD. Just a simple Haswell upgrade with a few more pixel, while either keeping the chassis or make it even slimmer / lighter. Pretty much a 900X4G.
I find the 4 options confusing. There should imho just two choices in that poll: matte non-touch (slim & light) or touch (heavy & bulky).
If you want a full blown feature packed laptop Ativ Book 7/8 should be your choice not the super sleek Ativ Book 9. -
-
I rather see a model carefully evolving than torpedo it's main characteristics. -
Can screen touch option be disable in bios or something like that?
-
Anyways, already, the result shows, their "New Release" is voted 0 times, even below the old 15 inch series 9!
-
But this is lost battle their new Ativ Book 2014 has 0 here on notebookreview forum ,but it has 950 likes on Samsung Facebook page.I know facebook numbers are not selling numbers but they have argument to cover them self and our 20 votes is pathetic.
By the way Mike Abary is definitely the man that has last decision what is released to market when it comes to notebooks ,SSD ,tablets etc..
Series 9 is definitely not perfect series. Its temperature is something that make me unpleasantly when its in my lap and that is only way i am using notebook at my house because if i need to sit in chair then i would rather sit in front of my 23" desktop that has unlimited power.I dont know how Acer made his Aspire 7 so cool and its even thinner then Series 9?
Even whit that big flaw I will probably buy now 900X4C if it would be available in Croatia but only because i don't see better notebook ,SO my only hope is that 2014 Ativ Book would be :
-cold
-super battery life
-no IR problems with screen
-and of course available in Croatia.
But if it fails in even one thing that i mention i will buy 900x4c or new d with 3337.Macbook pro is also not discarded(see that ,Samsung push me toward Apple,i am angry at you Samsung)
What to say about touch option then we don't need but we will still get, nothing else then life is not perfect. -
If the new 15 inch ativ book 9 fail at notebookreview, it will definitely fail in Amazon user review.
I can't go to Mackbook as I don't want to be in prison. I will keep on waiting from different ultrabook makers. I am currently enjoying my old laptop as it has SSD and the farthest distance I travel with it is from living room to bedroomBut once I get a light laptop, I can take it to anywhere.
