    Hello, I have Series 9, 13'' NP900X3A model.

the jack of my electricity adapter doesn't stick to the laptop
socket - it falls out. It used to get loose gradually, but now I can't
    charge my laptop at all!
What do I have to do? Anybody encountered anything similar?

    Rgds,
    Ivan

    Ivan,

Unfortunately, this has happened to a number of others -- you will find mention of it in the long NP900X3A thread. The weak WiFi and the power plug are the two biggest complaints.

I assume that you are pushing it in hard enough to click? There has been at least case reported where the person wasn't doing that. If you are, did yours ever click in when it was new?

You will need to send in to Samsung for service. There's no easy fix (assuming it's the socket).

I have this same problem on my 4 month old 900x. Not really crazy about sending it in but don't have many other options at this point.

Just an FYI. I posted this info in the "long" thread. I actually got to talk to one of the technicians that does Samsung repairs in the USA.

He said that they are repairing a lot of Series 9 power adapters/plugs. Samsung hasn't given them a new solution yet.

    Hi hi

My 900x is still under warranty, would the loose connection be covered under warranty? I've been using a heavy book 2 keep it in place (which is no longer effective) and the metal insert is slightly bent. I'm not sure if they'll void the warranty because of it?

The power plug is a known weakness: It is unnecessarily thin. I would try to get Samsung to fix it.

Hi I do had the same issue, I gave it to the service centre but they rejected saying that it will not cover under warranty. Later I opened the laptop by myself and found that the plastic bracket which holds the socket got broken inside. Its a design error by samsung. I just fixed it with a piece of rubber packing material and it worked fine till now(almost a year). It hardly took 10-15min. If u need any further help pls inform me.

John could you please show me some photos of how you fixed it with the rubber packing material? I am trying to find the best solution for a customer of mine. I'm not sure if you were having the same issue as him but when he goes to plug in his power cord it just falls out of the port. I appreciate your time. Thank you!

If you dont want to send it in for repair Its actually quite easy to fix.

Unscrew the bottomcase. There you will see th dc-in connector in the bottom corrner, and there will be some plastic that has broken off. This is what causes the problem. Remove the metal frame around the dc-in, remove the dc-in, get some super glue and drip a single drop right in the square where the dc-in is placed. Put the dc-in exactly inside the small square. Hold for a couple minutes. Put everything back togheter.

    It'll be as new.
