I have recently started having loads of driver irql blue screens of death on my q210 and have finally found the cause - the webcam drivers.

I have been using the drivers that were installed automatically (D Max) not windows, and it these which cause the bsod. However, if I use the generic windows drivers I get an appaling FPS.

I have had no problems with the original D Max drivers until about 5 days ago when these bsod's begun. Can anybody think of what could have caused these drivers to become faulty? Or could it be hardware?

Any help would be greatly, has been driving me mad. Yet to contact Samsung.

I use a webcam a lot and this FPS is just terrible.

Have you tried updating the webcam's driver?

Of course. There are no updates available. What drivers do you have? Can you give me the details?

Well, I dont like to give things on a silver platter so...

Search around the Samsung sites for their webcam driver.
    Download it.
    Uninstall the previous driver.
Run the install for the new driver.

    OR

You could also try rolling back the driver

    :D

Yes. Regardless that isn't the problem. The problem is with the normal drivers that you will be using, but for me cause this bsod. Just can't work out why, must be a conflict with something.

Have you tried making a image of your current system and then restoring your q210 to it`s birthday image.

If your webcam work then it`s a software problem, if it dont it`s hardware, I had a Q210

When you first bought your Q210 and turned it on, after it asked for you name and other details it backs-up your entire c drive to a hidden recover partition in case you have a software fault, that is your birthday image.

Now you can make your own images of your current c drive to your d drive or a dvd or even a external hdd.

There should be a Samsung recovery software installed on your Vista have a look for it.

It can also be run when your system boots up.

When you boot your Q210 at the bottom of the boot screen does it say press F4 or something to restore?

You will loose everything off your C drive so back it up to your D drive that is safe.
