    Hi Guys,

I have a Q210 and I love it but never use the dvd drive and would love to replace it with another hard disk.
Does anyone know of an adapter I could buy to do this?
    thanks in advance

You've got to find the right adaptor to go from the HDD connector to the socket for the optical drive. Is the optical drive PATA or SATA?

But wouldn't the motherboard read it as a CD/DVD Drive or is it more advanced than that?

That's not a problem. What the OP is wanting is the equivalent of the media bay solutions which some manufacturers have been doing for years.

Thanks guys. I am pretty sure it is sata, I will check in a mo. But it should be pretty straight forward, I might be able to make one myself if I could get a tiny sata and power cable

The SATA optical drive connector includes power and is a smaller version of what is used for the 2.5" HDD. See the attached.

The PATA ODD connector also includes power.
