I have inadvertently (well OK, through stupidity!) wiped the recovery partition from my Q210 running Vista.

Any ideas on how to rebuild?

I have really corrupted the partition and it is actually clickable (but not usable) in Windows Explorer

(I've recovered the o/s using Acronis, I'd just like to get the recovery partition back)

You should have a Samsung Vista DVD and a software/driver DVD , you can re-install from them, the Q210 comes with them, if they are not lost.

Do you mean that you have deleted the D: partition or the hidden partition?

Try pressing F4 at the BIOS screen to see whether the latter is still there.

    Thanks for the responses.

No problem re-installing, I've done that anyway. What I'd like to do is reinstate the hidden recovery partition.

I've corrupted it to the extent that it is no longer hidden! If I try to reinstate it using the recovery discs I simply get an error message and it terminates.

Tried F4, of course, John, but get a message saying "Invalid Recovery Area"

Sorry as far as i know you cannot re-build the Samsung hidden recovery partition, as you don't get the software Samsung used to make it.

Many thanks, I was sort of afraid of that.

Looks like I'll have to format the partition and reallocate the space.

I might just try one of the undelete utilities first; you never know!

I might also try to see if Samsung will sell me a download at nominal cost.
