I bought a Q210 after some careful consideration, thereby slightly deviating from you guys' recommendation in the What To Buy forum. I am extremely happy with the device physically, but Windows 7 (The only OS I wish to run) isn't completely perfect yet. I can't change the screen brightness (Except for using the NVIDIA display drivers to permanently adjust it) and the other actions (Such as turning off the touchpad or lowering/muting volume) are mostly working, but not showing me the standard Samsung popup to let me know they are.
What software do I need to get the screen functionality and what do I need to do to get the Samsung popups?

On the Q210 the screen brightness control is integrated with the Samsung Nvidia Display driver, if you use any other Nvida display driver the screen brightness control will not work.
I had a Q210 and the screen brightness thing is a real pain. -
That one isn't available for Windows 7 yet, right? Also, that's very annoying... I don't want to go and use Windows Vista or anything.

Hi, have the same problem, but i just installed Vista drivers:
http://www.samsungpc.com/gb/support/common/drivers/vista/nvidia7.15.11.7597.zip
Just download, unzip, go to Device Manager and update driver for display adapter.
FN + UP/DOWN doesnt work, but at least it's possible to change brightness in Power Settings

While it's a nice try, those drivers don't work for me. I get the specific error that the drivers are made for Vista (32 bit) only, and I doubt there's even a 64-bit version of those out there, let alone that they'll work on 7. Or do they work on 7-32bit?

Those drivers work for me on build 7077 but it's 32 bit :/ But anyway don't try to run setup. Just go to Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager open up Display Adapters, right click on NVIDIA GeForce 9200GS from menu choose Update Driver Software. In new window press "Browse my computer fo drivers software" and choose unpacked folder from the link i gave in my first post. Can't promise that it will work in 64 bit but it's working in 32bit.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way either. I can't update, because "Windows has determined your drivers are up to date" and doesn't allow me to throw those on.
Update:
Trying to make the drivers uninstall is a no-go as well, it won't let me install the drivers that way either, even when it's just using VGA drivers. The drivers from Windows Update work, but they still won't let me change it to those. Perhaps it's a 32-bit problem, I can't tell. I might try a 32-bit install soon, considering there's few reasons for me to really need the 64-bit right now. -
just a small update, after installing vista drivers, graphic performance in games is not too good, so they are not properly working. I'm using default drivers again.

Hi Guys
ok I was rather annoyed at no brightness etc, so I thought hey lets see if drivers are out for other (quite similar) laptops
and yes win7 drivers are available for the Q320 so get yourself onto those downloads and get hold of Easy DisplayManager from the software section
your FN buttons should then be fine -
Q320 Easydisplay Manager Win7 x64 does not work on my Q210 with Retail Win7 Ultimate x64.
I can install it but when using FN + arrow down to reduce brightness the screen goes black and notebook restarts.
NVM, the issue was bios related. U need to update the bios to get windows 7 x64 support!
