    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I ordered a Q210 and when it comes I would like to replace the pre-installed Vista on it with XP (Home Edition). I'm not too sure how to go about this, cos I don't think it will be as simple as just removing Vista and installing XP. Wouldn't there be issues with custom drivers and so on.

Anyway, I'd appreciated any help you guys could give me.

Go to the Samsung site and download all of the XP drivers and applications for your laptop (get the xp ones) as the DVD that comes with the laptop doesn't have complete xp drivers and apps (I don't think).

If you use your laptop on battery alot you should know that my Q310 lasted about an hour and 15 minutes longer under vista, than under XP.

    The Q210 drivers are here.

You can make the XP install run more smoothly if you use nLite to slipstream XP SP3 and the drivers into you XP installation disc. That way, the XP you install will be more up to date and should load the right drivers during the initial installation.

Personally, I haven't found any significant difference between the battery life for Vista and XP on the same hardware. However, XP requires a bit more tweaking.
