with ~1,8kg it is way too heavy to be called ultraportable ... Don't you think?

It doesn't even have a dedicated Grafik Card for the weight.

The Vaio SZ or the Thinkpads X6x offer more value for the money (IMO).

However perhaps the specs are not final and they simply have quoted the wrong weight.

Q35 is in no way a successor of Q30.

I can't believe that Samsung is going to position this model as a successor of beautiful and elegant Samsung Q30. Look at 12" Napa subnotebook from LG - Xnote TX. This what I'd call a Napa successor of Q30 if Samsung is not able to produce something similar or better.

With all respect, this notebook can't be called the successor of Q30 because it belong to a different class (it only shares 12" WXGA screen). First is its weight, then the presence of fan, and third is that it is using not ULV processors but the standard PMs core duo. Yes, I know that ULVs of Yonah family (single and duo) are not on the market yet, but several firms have already announced their new models models which will use ULV Yonah processors.

    Based on the above. :)

I think Samsung would discredit its deserved reputation for building the unique model like Q30 (and Latitude X1) by using its name for marketing a not very special model like new Q35.

By the way, is the chassis of Q35 also made of magnesium alloy like that of Q30?

We are waiting for Q30++ :) with ULV Yonah and less than 1.1kg of weight (and the price below 1500 pounds ;)).

Thank you for your information, anyway!
