Q45 charger 2 pin fig 8 or 3 pin clover? Square in square symbol?

Hi all,

Looking to buy a q45 to replace my x10plus and wanted to know what kind of charger it comes with. Is it a 2 pin fig 8 or 3 pin clover type? Also does the charger have the square in square symbol on it?

Asking the above questions as the laptop is going to be used for live audio work and I need a laptop that doesn't have the ground connected which causes ground loops.

Good question: The Q35 and the R20 had a 60W PSU with 2pin connector but the Q70 came with a 60W PSU with a 3 pin connector, so maybe Samsung have moved to the 3 pin during the past year.

However, there may be a fix if there is a 3 pin connector: Chop off the supplied mains plug and fit your own plug with the earth wire (the one with the green/yellow stripes) not connected. This will not affect the normal PSU function - I have been using a 2 pin mains plug converter many times during my travels without ill-effect. However, this is not the same as a double-insulated PSU.

I attach a photo of the Q70's 3 pin PSU. Also of the Sony G11 PSU where the double-square symbol is near the right hand end.

Anyway, let's find out what PSU the Q45 owners received and if they can see the symbol.
