    Hi everyone!

I bought my Q45 Damali about 4 month ago and already have some "worn out" keys on my keyboard, the touch pad does look very used, too.
Fortunately I can look at other Q45s at university and they don't seem to have those used looking keys and touch pad.
I asked the owners about the notebooks and all of them were about 3 to 5 month old.
Now I'm wondering why only my Q45 is showing the mentioned symptoms.
I've attached to photos of the keyboard and the touch pad.

Has anyone noticed this on a Q45?

    Cheers

I don't personally own an ASUS laptop, so dont' take MY word for it, but I have an HP and I've been using it for 4 months and my keys are just as bad...I guess, my spacebar has that HUGE shiny part where my thumb hits it all the time lol. But as for the keys, mine look the same after 4 months, it's all good.

I don't think that the shininess is abnormal if you are a heavy user. I have a similar shiny patch on the space bar of my 6 month old Zepto 6024W. Touchpad wear will also depend on usage, and many people prefer to use a mouse.

This type of wear won't affect functionality. On the X60 I was wearing through the silver paint to expose the white plastic underneath. I think the Q45's keys are solid black plastic.
