My new laptop finally arrived today. Unwrapped it, fired it up, and of course I am unable to connect to my home wireless network. I read the manual, and understand that I am supposed to press "function" and "f9" to turn the adapter on, but this does not work. Any help/ ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance... :(

All good wireless networks have some form of security, even if only to hide the SSID. Are you sure that your network is entirely open?

Once you have checked that, you can check in Device Manager to confirm that the wireless network adaptor is working. Do you have a network icon near the right end of the Taskbar?

The problem seems to have corrected itself somehow, but I appreciate your quick reply. Thanks.
