    Hi guys,

I'm planning on installing a new 500GB 7200rpm HDD into my laptop as the old one has now failed, can I just put the new HDD in place of the old one and just do a complete reinstall using samsung recovery solution (pre windows boot of course), or do I need the recovery DVD, I ask beacuse I have lost the recovery disk.

    Many thanks in advance

If you don't have the Samsung Windows disc then you will have to activate Windows using the key provided on the computer. if you don't have the drivers / software disc then you can get drivers and Samsung software from the Samsung download site. However, you won't get any 3rd party software bundled with the computer.

I don't think that will work unless you had backed up the SRS partition and cloned it onto the new HDD.
