Does anyone know how to remove the pre-installed 8gb RAM modules? I can only find the DIMMs for upgrading an extra 8gb.
Cheers

Did you look (a) in the User Guide and (b) under any covers on the back?
John -
Yes thanks.
The user guide only shows how to install extra ram in the empty slots.
I already know how to open the cover for this......cheers Samsung!!!!!
It seems the pre-installed Ram is hidden with the motherboard. Although i am not very good at D.I.Y and will probably forget to undo some screws and snap something.
Anybody??? -

It is possible that some RAM is soldered on the mainboard. That is the case with the 15.6" Series 7. Having another RAM slot under the keyboard is unlikely given the modern keyboard design.

Ahh cheers John.
Not good then as i want to install a higher ram spec eg.1600 or 1866 to see if it is compatible.

You can install a faster module but it will only run at the same speed as the internal RAM.
Did you try running CPU-z to see what it reports about the RAM?
John -
Yes thats why i wanted to remove the pre-installed RAM and upgrade it to a faster PnP kit.
Never mind looks like i can only add two 4gb Samsung Modules.
Thanks for the replies John -
So that includes the NP700Z5A then? I've prised the whole bottom casing off the laptop and couldn't find slot 1 RAM... only the upgrade socket for slot 2.... doh! -
Did you find out how to open it? Is ti something under the keyboard altso?

I'm sure that people have reported that there is 4GB soldered on board. You can put 8GB (now becoming affordable) in the slot and have 12GB.

So a low voltage DDR3 module as the Samsung's MV-3T4G3/US should work with any problem in the expansion socket of a 700Z5A-S04 to get a total amount of 8 GB of RAM, is this correct??
