Does anyone else have this issue: When logging off (windows+l), the screen goes black and takes a couple of seconds to pop up the log on screen. On my old Medion laptop, this process is instantaneous.

Also sometimes when returning from hibernate, I get a 'display driver has crashed/stopped working and recovered' notification and the windows bar goes white for a while, until returning to normal.

    Thanks for any advice

Sorry to hear that. Don't have those problems. The log on screen appears immediately.

This seems to be a case of bad software installation and/or misaligned partitions on your Hard Drive. The white space means it is taking longer for windows to load the correct texture.

Hmmm well It's just slower to log off than my old laptop is all. Not really that slow I guess... I did mess with the partitions after initial set up because I just wanted the C to be the whole drive, so I expanded it.

As for the flashing white screen after hibernate I find it hard to replicate since I updated the BIOS... beforehand I emailed Samsung support and they indicated it may be a hardware problem. I have just left it though and hasn't been too bothersome. I guess I'll just leave it and see if the problems become enough for me want to return it to get checked out.

After reading the forum though, I am reluctant to return it as I think I've got a good model otherwise. Excellent screen with good viewing angles (dont understand that issue), good general construction and touchpad is perfect.

You can continue to hold on to it until just before your return period expires, then you make the choice whether to keep it.
