    I have an S9 X05US purchased Aug 2011.
I have noticed at least 4-8 dead pixels in middle of screen that are quitre annoying when watching video.

Anyone else having problems with this issue?
    Any luck with returns/repair?

Of course, this is a minor issue compared with completely non-functional WiFi... but it adds insult to injury since S9 screen is major selling point.

Check with freaking support if they would do anything. We are not Nostradamuses here... I really doubt they'd do anything about this issue (unlike the wifi one, which should be fixed by them!) as there is no dead pixels warranty due to the nature of the failures, but it's worth a try.

Google found this old info about Samsung's bad pixel policy. Maybe if you search the support site for your Samsung country site you will find something more up-to-date.

    thanks for helpful reply.
The reason I posted my question is b/c Samsung report has notoriously denied admitting there was a "problem" with WiFi issue and it was only thru mult posts on this site that this problem really came to light.

I would not be the least bit surprised if they treated a "dead pixel problem" the same way which is why I asked about other's experiences with this issue BEFORE I called support and received a "scripted" reply.....

AND- you say "unlike the WiFi issue... well, it appears they are not willing to address THAT issue, either. So, why should I "expect" any difference? In fact, if anything "dead pixels" are a completely objective observation (so easier to argue) whereas the "WiFi issue" ("sometimes it doesn't work so well" "maybe it's the software" "maybe it's the router") is a LOT easier for them to deny responsibility for.

If I were you, I would not be on the phone but in the shop where you bought it from (if it was prestigious chain) waving your arms and screaming for someone to fix it.

Or even better - in a Samsung store with the laptop, refusing to leave until someone acknowledges the issue - eventually someone will take a look and phone support to take care of it just to get you to go away. Of course they will deny it over the phone. They know you might give up so they will always try to deny you at first to see if you bite and save them some money.

If you can show them that you can sit in the same room as the router and not get a reliable connection then they should admit there's a problem.
