q30 is awesome laptop indeed, however I wish samsung could've added better performing graphic card :)

Is it too much to ask ?

Dell Latitude X1 has a slightly better one.

I don't think it is feasible to have a dedicated graphic card in a fanless small laptop with ULV processor. Who knows, maybe the future Yonah based technology will allow for it.

Just two days in the university library, I saw all these kids with their laptops and this one girl with the Q30 really stood out, must be a rich college girl. Didn't Dell rip their Latitude X1 off of this notebook? Stupid Dell, has to steal ideas.

The x1 is actually the q30 but with some added and some removed features. It's not built as nicely but it has internal bluetooth and a maximum HD of 60gb instead of the 40gb.

    1) x1 has Intel 915GMS graphic chip (though it is working at 400MHz FSB) vs. Intel 855GME in Q30.
    2) Q30 has 2 speakers vs. 1 in x1. I think the place of one is taken in x1 by bluetooth
    3) Q30 has brighter display (haven't seen that of x1 myself, so I just repeat what the reviews say).

Also Q30 has 6 Pin 1394 port utilize external ODD but X1 has 4 pin 1394 and 2 USB ports to power Ext ODD.

Samsung is the provider of this laptop and they, Dell and Samsing, have the non compete deal in the US but it is over now.

This was the reason why we didn't see any of Samsung notebooks in the US.

Well we might be able to see some cool Samsung notebooks in the US soon. Well hopefully.

Also it seems smaller and thinner than X1 for sure.

Dynamism is now selling the Q30+, which looks to me like a Q30 with the updated Intel 915 chipset.

Congratulations to the american colleagues! This is one of the most seductive notebooks on the market!

Wow, the US price is good! The older Q30 model with 1.2GHz processor has been priced in Europe on the level of 4000$!

Posting it just for curiosity: I found Q30+ offered in ... Ukraine (!) for just 2250$: http://www.levite.com.ua/laptops.html

A hint: the model is better searchable under the name Q30plus.

I'm planning to buy this notebook in Hong Kong next month, but em, don't know... isn't it a little gay for a 190-pound dude like me to carry around a tiny red laptop like the Q30? That's all I'm worried about lol..

why not to buy a silver model. I read somewhere that this series also has a blue model. I think they should have a choice in Hong Kong. Anyway, the model looks so cool that you don't need to have complexes with it.
