    Hi all,

Right i need a new screen for my Samsung NP300E5A. I'm not 100% sure what i need, I've got a European version of the laptop not sure if that make a difference but on the bottom on the bar-code label the details have rubbed off so i can't see the exact model of the laptop.
On the back of the screen that i have taken off it says LTN156AT19-001 when i search that the screen seem to be aboue £120 but if i search Samsung 300E the screen are about £40?

    can anyone please help me.

this is the cheaper screen i was looking at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SAMSU...Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item58a29d3aa8

    thanks in advance

I would ask the ebay seller to confirm (i) that they believe the panel to be compatible with your notebook (the exact version number is irrelevant) and (ii) that you can return the screen for a refund if it doesn't work or the display is of unacceptable quality. Sometimes sellers make a fuss if the product being returned has been opened.

I also note the comment "may contain 1 to 5 dead pixels". Getting more than one dead pixel on a panel these days is bad luck and the comment hints that these panels could be rejects. You may therefore want to seek clarification whether you can return the panel if there is more than two bad pixels.

You could even ask the question why so cheap compared to another source?

Thanks you very much for the reply and the information.
New 15.6" SLIM LED LCD SCREEN FOR SAMSUNG NP300E5A-A03DX Compatible | eBay this is the other screen that costs just under £119. but as you can see on that screen it has the metal bevel thing around the outside so that you can slot it in place and screw it on. On the cheaper one it doesn't i don't know if that is just the picture and when you receive the product it does have it.

Tried to message a few people but non of them have got back so for.

Think that £120 is rather overpriced, and it wasn't even a good display to begin with; those values are appalling, really. The £40 is ok-ish, but there's 50+ compatible screens to choose from (assuming you want to keep the antiglare), which is a freakishly large pool to fish from. So when you spend that £40, you might as well fetch a better lcd for the same price. Any of these eleven would fit (provided their connector's location is bottom-left) and would make a significant improvement over the original. Most are discontinued models, but that's also the reason for the, at times, very large price variations; resellers buy up old stock that isn't going to be used in new, production-line laptops.

Unfortunately, what you're usually buying is a "compatible" model, so you'll receiver whatever the seller has in stock. You could, however, buy a used screen; there are grade A's available, you'll get the exact screen you asked for and you'll pay even less than the £40 for a new one.

That just the bezel that ensures an lcd will fit in the lcd's housing case. If you've kept your old, broken lcd; screw them off because they're specific to your laptop model and not technically a part of the lcd proper. Hence no new lcd will come with those bezels attached, so you'd find them only on used models and even then it's only of use in another laptop of the same type/brand.

It's much analogue to HDD's; there are identical screw-fitting positions on the bare lcd's & hdd's, no matter the manufacturer that made the device. But it's up to the system builders to choose which ones they'll use to make those parts fit their systems.

Thanks you very much! It's for my dads laptop i don't think he will be too bothered about the quality to be fair as long as it looks okay. Yes i still have the old metal bezel from the old screen i haven't thrown it yet just incase i need it.

I just don't want to buy a screen and it doesn't fit. I'll have a look at the ones you have put links for thanks again.
