I have this laptop and I love it to pieces as it's so much more sleek and efficient(Esp. considering what i paid) than any other laptop i've owned. however the form factor means the screen is too easy to damage. there was a very notablew scratch on it - I tried taking displex to it which gives it a constantly "wet" look that i can't get rid of. obviously, the outer layer needs to be replaced completely, but i can only find replacement lcd panels. i wouldn't mind replacing the lcd asthere are some pressure marks on it(again the way it folds causes issues - need to find a way around this). also - would it be possible to replace the screen completely with one with a higher contrast ratio and/or less prone to pressure marks?
Is there anywhere I can get JUST the cover? Is it generic to most laptops? I really like the anti-glare of this though, i don't like glossy screens.
thanks.

If I understand you correctly, the problem is with the back of the display (ie what you see when the notebook is closed = this).
Most of those are available are used, including a pink one (if you prefer) but here's a new part that indicates the official part number is BA75-04090C.
You would need to consult a specialist display company about whether there are alternative, better quality panels. A key consideration is the type and location of the socket on the display into which the cable that passes through the hinge connects.

I mean the actual layer in front of the LCD panel. What is that called?
I was hoping people here would know with regards the socket type etc... -

On a normal display the part you can touch is part of the panel itself and cannot be easily changed (although specialist companies may be able to do it).
If it is a touchscreen then what you touch may be a separate protective layer.

It's not a touchscreen. Do I need to replace the entire LCD panel then?

i looked it up on youtube, seems easy enough. just worried about dead pixels etc.
also how can i stop the problem frm happening again? there needs to be more distance betwene the screen and keys. i guess it gets squashed up in my bag. -

The easiest way to stop the keyboard marking the screen is to put a sheet of paper on the keyboard before closing the computer. I've had the same problem on a number of computers, most likely caused by getting squeezed in the bag.
