    Hi,

This morning when i woke up, several keys on my laptop were dead. I suspect it is due to a software problem rather than hardware.

    How can i verify?

Which keys are not working? And why do you suspect a software problem?

I suppose you could boot into BIOS (F2) an enter a Boot Password (but without saving it) to test the various character keys. That would eliminate software issues.

I have got multiple keys not working at the same time such as f2, escape, numeric five and six, delete and shift buttons. I bought this laptop 4 months ago.

If it is a hardware defect, I would not expect several keys to go malfunction at the same time.

It is possible for several keys to go dead at the same time: The keys use a matrix arrangement so the connecting cable doesn't need as many wires as there are keys.

If one contact in the connector has gone bad then several keys get affected. The fix may be as simple as removing / replacing the keyboard cable from the connector on the mainboard.
