If the battery died then it probably needs sending to battery heaven and replaced by a new one. It's going to be a couple of years old, maybe more, and of the age when it could be well past its best, particularly if discharged / recharged on a daily basis. There have been several of these dying battery threads recently.

Does BatteryInfoView given any clues about the health of the battery?

Daily discharge / recharge would mean you have passed the 500 charge cycles that many lithium batteries are rated for. If you don't need to do the daily discharging then do not. Some people got into that habit with nickel batteries and haven't changed.

You may have difficulty finding a Samsung replacement battery or, if you find one, are horried by the price. Fortunately, the third party battery specialists have started offering batteries for many of the Samsung notebooks.

That is expensive for a 3rd party battery, but is it working OK now?
