Does anyone know which kind of keyboard is in place on a Swiss Laptop? Is it QWERTZ or AZERTY??

Thanks John. It seems to me it might make sense to put pressure on local Samsung offices / let them know about the demand (and Zenbook competition) so they better start ordering, and don't forget to demand i7/8/256 so they get the hint that this is the way to go.
Austrian and German keyboard layouts are identical. If Samsung Germany don't get it, there's still hope to get what you want from Austria. In fact, the G (LTE) version of the Ativ Book 9 X3F is available as 256 only from Austria, German version is only 128. So they are obviously very capable of fukcing it up just like Samsung USA.

Finally got the chance to the see the AB9+ in person at the MS Store this weekend. It's one beautiful piece of hardware.

I compared the quality of the display with the Pro 13 that was placed right next to it and I can tell the display on the AB9+ is so much better. When going to a website that has a lot of white background, like Amazon.com, you can easily see how grainy the whites look on the Pro 13. It's like a wallpaper of tiny crystals. The AB9+ doesn't have that problem at all. It's super smooth and grain-free. :)

I was even blown away by the speakers of the AB9+. I didn't expect it to sound that good from a 13" ultrabook. It was pretty loud and clear, even inside a noisy MS Store.

    My NP940X3G-K04US i7/8GB/256GB pre-order from Amazon USA now states "Delivery Estimate Friday, October 25, 2013 - Thursday, November 7, 2013 by 8:00pm ."

    Counting the days...

I pre-ordered mines on 9/26 and it still says:

"We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via email as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."

I logged on this morning to ask whether anyone had gotten an estimated delivery day from Amazon for the NP940X3G-K04US i7/8GB/256GB. I ordered mine on 9/27 and it still says " We need a little more time..........".

edit to add: A little chat with Amazon this morning revealed nothing. " no stock, not sure when we will get more".......etc

Same here. I ordered the NP940X3G-K04US from Amazon on 9/29 and don't have an estimated shipping date yet. Is anyone else worried that the 256gb that was listed on Amazon will change to 128gb? Has something like this happened to someone else when preordering from Amazon?

Did anyone who ordered the AB9+ 8GB/256 from Amazon get a screen shot of the offer?

The computer has disappeared from Amazon and when you click on the link associated with my order you get the same blank page. I can't find anything that lists what the specs are I ordered. Which could cause a problem validating I ordered a computer w/256 instead of 126 if they try and switch.

This ultrabook is gorgeous looking, but the specs seem average, perhaps below average for the price point. It's not a problem for me per se but I am considering getting another laptop like the Yoga Pro 2 for the same price with more RAM and CPU. What are your thoughts? I've been wanting to the the Ativ but the Yoga specs and transforming abilties are tempting.

The specs are almost identical if you are willing to pay for the higher model AB+; the AB+ may even be faster if the Yoga is only single-channeled. That said, the price difference you are paying for is like you said, for the "gorgeous" and build quality of the AB+.

The Yoga Pro 2 is an interesting option to consider, but don't forget that there a aspects of a notebook that you can't read from a spec sheet, like touchpad quality, WIFI range, the quality of the cooling, display quality, etc.

Nothing wrong with looking elsewhere. I too am becoming less and less impressed with this laptop since I first heard of. I'll be waiting until late November when other high res laptops have launched. If none of those impress me, then I'll consider the Ativ-Book 8 - 15-inches with 1080P and 16 GB ram (I think).

I am still very excited for the B9+. There is no way I am going to put money down on a Book 8 with 1080P. Heck, my phone has 1080P and my eyes see a big difference compared to my previous 720P, and these are tiny screens. The B9+ may be expensive, but it should last for a long time since there is not much you can improve spec wise on an ultrabook.

And i think pixle-doubled 1600x900 (=3200x1800) is perfect for a 13.3 screen, it has slightly bigger text and is of course sharper.

Exactly. Text, images, etc will look sharper. I can also be more productive since I can rearrange windows better. Technology, especially videos are now moving to the 4K. I wouldn't want to be left behind either. And I don't know if people realize this but you can reduce the resolution if it scares you.

The Book 8 (touch) has an awesome screen. Great contrast, low black levels, and fairly accurate out of the box. My co-worker has one, and apart from the resolution, it's just as good as the one on my Macbook Retina.

In regards to the Amazon shipping estimate, I have:

    Friday, October 25, 2013 - Wednesday, November 13, 2013 by 8:00pm

I updated my payment method, which seems to have updated my estimate.

I ordered mine on 9/27 and I still have the " need more time......" message.

I ordered on Sep 26, 2013 (at around 9 PM Eastern)

I didn't have an estimated delivery date this morning, but after reading that minnus was able to get an estimate by updating the payment method I tried changing the shipping from two-day to one-day and this was the result:

    Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - Thursday, November 7, 2013 by 8:00pm

Sorry, I had assumed my point was clear given Doonce's most recent comment. My order happened after Doonce. but I have an estimate while he does not. Exactly when it happened is not particularly helpful, though I guess reiterating or confirming times don't hurt. The interesting part was updating the order bit.

It was placed on the 28th.

My order was placed around 20 minutes before my comment on September 26th. In light of recent comments, I went into my Amazon order and clicked change shipping speed, kept it the same, and clicked confirm and now I have "Delivery estimate: October 23, 2013 - November 8, 2013." I still don't know whether or not to believe this, given past experiences with the i5/128.

However, I now have "Estimated tax to be collected: $98.73" and a grand total of $1,744.18.. I don't know what that's about. Nevermind.. apparently my state just passed a law requiring Amazon to collect taxes... great...

BTW, my State ( WA) is charging me $145 in taxes!!

Thanks everyone for the tip. I ordered mine on Amazon on Sept. 26.

I kept my shipping speed the same (free super saver) but "updated" it as well and now have an estimated shipping for Oct. 28 - Nov. 13.

So, I didn't change my shipping speed (I already had one-day shipping selected) and just received an email with an update for the shipping date.

    1 item - delivery estimate: November 5, 2013 - November 19, 2013

For me hopefully it'll be on the earlier side of that estimate, as I'm travelling for a few weeks before and a couple weeks after!

Also, I ordered mine on September 26, just as soon as I saw the post that they were available...so a little on the unfortunate side for me with regards to the shipping dates! =P Hopefully they'll revise it down later (for everyone!)

    Estimated arrival date:November 06, 2013 - November 20, 2013

    And I pre-ordered mines on 9/26.

Yes, during the press release in June, Samsung "mentioned" up to 256GB SSD storage and 8GB of RAM. During the Amazon USA pre-order, the specs listed on their website were i7/8GB/256GB in multiple locations for the NP940X3G-K04US with a suggested retail price of $1799 (it was cheaper during the pre-order).

Is anyone else who pre-ordered from Amazon the AB9+ 8GB/256 a little dubious whether we really will get it in the next month?

I find it a little weird that:

    1. I can't find another retailer that offers this configuration. ( only 8GB/128)
    2. Amazon took it off their website in a couple days.
3.Samsung doesn't even list it as coming on their website and it is suppose to be out in a few weeks ( according to Amazon's shipping estimate)

I am hopeful but doubtful that this configuration exists.
