Okay, well i wanted to update the BIOS of my Q210 Samsung computer, i ran the installation and it said that during the installation my mouse and keyboard would not function and that you should never turn off the computer during the installation..
I thought.. fair doos. so i ran the installer.
The bios updated fine, and then it went to the second step of updating the MICOM (not sure what that is?)
Anyway, just as it was about to execute this step up pops kaspersky antivirus in the corner asking me to allow the program to execute the hidden installer.. thing is.. i couldnt click the button to allow the update to update MICOM because my keyboard and mouse were locked! So i was forced to turn off my system, after the BIOS update completed, and the MICOM was not run.
I tried to run the update again to install the MICOM but it said my BIOS was already up to date so nothing needed to be done... Uh oh?

I booted my PC, went into my bios and found my bios version was 11 and MICOM was 08 (should these be the same value?) is it bad that my bios updated and i cannot update my MICOM? Infact, what is MICOM?? is it even important? Is there a way to update it without this installer?

BTW if someone from samsung is reading this - should really look into this, kaspersky (or other antiviruses) could cause a lot of problems for people updating their BIOS.

    Greatful for any help :)

I will leave it as it is.IT IS FINE.

If you insist of updating the MICOM turn off kaspersky and flash with the older BIOS.Then with kaspersky again turned off flash again with the new BIOS.

Unless it has been changed recently, the Samsung Windows BIOS software won't allow a downgrade. There used to be an alternative BIOS flashing arrangement using a bootable CD and then using a command. However, this hasn't been released for a year or two.

I would suggest that you contact Samsung support. If you don't want to wait on the phone then use the email support option on the FAQs for your notebook.
