I got the laptop last year and I've had no problems with it until a few weeks ago. The laptop just randomly shuts off from time to time when I'm using the it to just browse the Internet. It isn't overheating or anything. I know the problem can be caused by a lot of things.

Does/has anyone have any similar issues?

    Thanks

Now it's doing it frequently. Every 5 minutes or so!

The first thing I would suggest is to factory restore (booting F4). If the problem is still present after that, you most likely have a hardware defect and need Samsung to repair it. No amount of tweaking the installation will fix it if that is the case.

OTOH if factory restore solves it, you can either continue on that installation (adding your programs) or restore your current installation and start diagnosing.

Event Viewer would be a good place to look.

Note that there are dozens of Series 7 Chronos models (generations, sizes etc). If you post your model number, we can direct you to the Owners Lounge for your model, where other owners of the same model are more likely to see your post.
