First off...I'm new here so hello!

Ok on to my issue: :)

I have a a 3 year-old Samsung Chronos 7 with Win 7. I just bought a lapel mic for my smartphone also hoping it would work on my Samsung. It apparently isn't compatible when I use it on the 1/4 inch jack.

    QUESTIONS:

    1. Does my Samsung accept most USB type mics?

    2. Does anyone have a Vidpro lapel mic and know if it works on the Samsung?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

    Ken

Welcome to NBR, a question is under recording devices do you show 2 mic's? one should be the default web cam mic .

    Hi, .)

One is the mic/earphone jack combo, and the other is the default mic yes.

and you have the splitter for the combo jack, or is it just a software selectable combo of the I/O?

Edit which model do you have?

I do not have a splitter. I was wondering if I can use a USB mic with this PC. Samsung couldn't give me an answer.

    Thanks :)

Although if there's a way to make my work in the 1/4 inch jack that would be great too. :)

You know...the jack on my PC may be a 1/8 jack. Not sure.

    Ok, I confirmed it's a 3.5mm (1/8) plug on my mic, not 1/4 inch. Sorry :)

It may be 1/8, they usually are mini-jacks not full size. plenty of adapters out there. As far as a USB mic mostly they should be compatible. Same even with sound cads etc., just a matter of selecting the correct device(s).

If it is a matter of the jack adapter then go that route. Fewer issues and system resources.

Edit; no need to be sorry, what we are here for. Glad you have it under control.

Yeah, I have a VidPro lapel mic I just bought for my android phone which works well. Just not sure it will work with my samsung pc once I get an adapter.

I'll have to find out. :)

    Thanks.
