    Hi

I updated my laptop to Win8 by following Samsungs own guide.

Everything works fine, besides the auto brightness function, this is not like the normal auto brightness. It adjusts the brightness depending on what on the screen. Like if I go to a dark website it turns the brightness down, or go to a bright white webpage it turns everything up, very strange.

    Hope someone can help

    Thank you.

I was really annoyed by this last week too. I realized there was no settings in Easy Settings (Settings) like they used to have it on Windows 7. I found out it is an easy fix. Go to Control Panel > Change plan settings (on your current plan) > Change advanced power settings. A popup window should appear with a list tree of things you can set. Scroll down and expand Display > Enable adaptive brightness. Turn on/off to your liking. Hope this helps! :]

I already did that, but that only helps removing the brightness adjustment for the light coming from the room, not the screen.

Oh I see what you mean now. I thought I was fixing just that. I tried a bright page and dark page and realized mine is dimming up and down still (not by a large margin though). On to find a fix. :[

Right click on the desktop and click on graphics properties. In the intel display settings, click on power on the left, select "on battery" from the power source drop-down menu, and disable the "display power saving technology" checkbox.

    Cheers,
