Just a heads-up - Samsung's got an event at 7:00 PM in London today, premiering new Galaxy and ATIV products. Keep an eye out for Haswell refreshes and new notebooks.

I just need a Haswell version of Samsung Series 9 (15") with Full HD IPS/PLS screen

Yeah, I'm hoping for a straight Haswell refresh of the Series 7 Ultra/ATIV 7, preferably with HD5000 graphics (i5-4250, i5-4350, i7-4550, i7-4650). To be in my hands by mid-August, at that... -
If they announce a haswell refresh, usually how long would it take before the notebooks hit the shelves?
-
We will find out today, but every other PC manufacturer has already announced Haswell based PCs with imminent availability. That in combination with the disaster handling and availability of their previous flagship Chronos 7/ATIV Book 8, will probably mean an imminent availability for Samsung's new line as well.

Maybe imminent availability, but where? Perhaps not everywhere for all models. We wait to see whether this aspect is shared at the Premiere.
John -
Maybe this is what will be announced in London:
Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite (AMD) e Plus (Intel) e ATIV Book Q - Notebook Italia
Here is a price for the Ativ book Q:
Samsung ATIV Book Q - Laptopshop.be -

Just woke up to the inevitable disappointment...
A refresh of the Series 9 13" with no information other than that it packs a stupidly high-res screen, which will almost certainly cost a boatload whenever it comes out.
A BS Series 9 13" little brother (which likely has no business using the Series 9/ATIV 9 name) with worse res than the previous Series 9 and a Samsung processor that was probably designed for cell phones.
And the Sony Duo 13, er, Samsung ATIV Q: same screen as the new Series 9, same "it's out when it's out" due date and "you'll pay whatever we ask you to pay" price tag.
It's simple, Samsung: The Series 7 Ultra is your best ultrabook by far. Stick a Haswell processor in it, remove the stupid brightness control software, and you're guaranteed to make a boatload. -
agree with the above. the question, however, is whether the 7 Ultra will actually get a haswell update.
it seems like it was just a hold over model for best buy until haswell arrived. there were some pictures of a black colored Ultra 7 but nothing seems to have come of that. -
So is this all? Only two small 13 models and no 15 inch model? This is a huge disappointment. :hi2: What is the best alternative to the old series 9 15 inch?
I have created a separate thread for this and lets post our views here so that Samsung people could easily view our views about what they are doing.
no ativ book 9 plus 15 inch screen model -
There was one sentence at the 12min mark which lead me to believe that there will be other models. The it was along the lines of "there are other models the higher the number the better it is." i just don't think they showcased all of em due to time constraints. That and the fact they are normal.

Unfortunately I have not seen any exciting laptop in this show, I was waiting for a refreshed Ativ book 5 530U4E with Haswell APU and HD+ matte screen, but instead not normal products; zoom camera in mobile phone, 13" screen laptop with 3800x resolutin, strange tablet... for what?
-
What a huge dissapointment, high unsable super glossy screen with touch - why, why, why?
And the Lite version, 1366x768 resolution, what are they thinking?
Oh well.... -

While I hope this is true, how much time would it really take for them to say "we'll also be releasing Haswell versions of laptops X, Y, and Z"? -

I'm sure we will see other notebooks emerge during the next month or two. However, their release will be the usual process of them quietly appearing so it's just a matter of keeping watch for new model numbers.
John -
Is there any chance for 15 inch Ativ book 9? Because they have ignored it in two round of new releases. Is 15 inch discontinued?:hi2::cry:

I have been unable to find any new clues about the future of the 15". It doesn't appear to be on Samsung's list of priorities. Their priority seems to be in offering more choices in the 13.3" size, where the market is very competitive, rather than providing a better product in the 15" size where there is no obvious alternative. The London show would have been an excellent opportunity to demonstrate a better 15" model and give it some much-needed publicity. However, considering that show was all about touch-enabled devices, which many of us don't want, perhaps it is better to hope that Samsung will quietly put a new non-touch 15" on the shelves.
