Hey guys I am new here i just wanna know somthing quick.

I got this laptop 3 days a go for work I own a alienware m18x r2 for gaming but this is for work.

    Model: Samsung 550p5c-s02au

Has decent specs and basic hardware.
    i7 3610qm
Intel 4000 and Nvidia GT650 for gaming
    6gb ram
    1tb space

Issue is takes 4 minuets to boot fresh windows.
Overheats when playing cs 1.6 and css to 90 95c, USB dose not read and some times it takes a while to load. And usb 3 is 5mb a sec and the device works fine on my desktop and alien ware at full 50mb a sec.

Also a stick pixels right side and very slow wireless and Ethernet and works fine with desktop and alienware.

Could it be a faulty model and get it changed over.

I have the same & it works great, once I did a clean install plus reset the CPU settings in bios. I'd be taking that lemon back and asking for a replacement.

Also note that a USB 3.0 firmware update was posted last month. It boosted the speed for some people.

As I said I'l be taking it back & asking for a replacement, if not a refund. I believe it's unreasonable to deal with so many issues out of the box, you didn't drop serious coin to be slugged with a DYI project.

Yea 6.7, funny thing (Or not so funny), I have a HP DV6-6135tx with a 2nd gen i7 with a AMD HD 6670m here and it gets 6.9 after a fresh install.

Might be drivers and does your samsung overheat or get toasty?

Been to around 80c or so, but that would be about average for most laptops and my WEI in the Samsung was higher before the clean install as well. You should try Intel® Driver Update Utility maybe it might help.

I sent a email to samsung asking if they could bring out a bios update where they either fix the heat issue or make the fan speeds faster while under load.

Did you re-install easy settings, is has some kind of fan adjust software. I don't have it installed and also have you set your CPU to full power in bios?

Well my way of thinking is, games take a lot of power to play, so to play games with the CPU limited would be in some way like taking 2 spark plugs off a V8 car and asking it to haul a load, the other 6 cylinders would have to work harder to achieve the required goal, working hard usually = heat.

I don't even understand why they would have such a feature, if I didn't need all the computing power of a i7 CPU, wouldn't I have bought an i5?

True i think the same thing all Samsung needs to do is make the fan speeds faster under load i know laptop cpus are meant to get hot but not this hot. I am not fussed if the fans are on high rpm i have headphones on 99% of the time.

Also ima after the return add better thermal paste to the connectors like artic silver 5 or something.
