So, hello everyone. I recently got a Samsung G7A from my grandpa who upgraded. As i googled around, i saw that the laptop has a MXM 3.0b slot and that people installed cards like a 7970m in there.
So, what can or should i upgrade in the Laptop?

    specs:
    CPU: i7 2670qm
    RAM: 16GB
    GPU: 6970M 2GB
Storage: 2x 750GB HDD's in Raid 0 (ssd is planned)

The Samsung Gamer G7(x) is a MXM card but the video bios is in the system board, not the card. This means the camps are not interchangeable, neither AMD or Nvidia or visa versa.

Next issue is the generation of the card has the same issue. The cards are proprietary in shape but too the video bios would need flashing. Some info for your model.

The G7a is an AMD GPU and has 3D capability. There is an internal BT chip that works the Samsung active 3D glasses. It is the only model that has this. This dongle internally is attached to the main board, not the GPU.

Oh yeah, CPU is a non issue, that is within the I7 2xxxqm family. I think about the fastest is a i7 2960xm. If memory serves me there was one guy who took the G7c (NVidia) and upgraded the GPU and it worked (booted) all except that imbedded bios could not be changed and the post ignored the GPU card bios.

Edit; the 2960XM will not be overclockable in bios, XTU or other app. The one thing you can do is have the boot tables of the UEFI changed to reflect a plus core clock. Someone did this for me on the 3840qm to +400 for the base.
