The Samsung Series 3 NP300V5A notebook's blue led light WiFI indicator is immediately on upon boot up. Is it transmitting WiFI radiation? Can it be conveniently disabled so that it does not switch on?
There is no hardware switch. Other than removing the physical WiFi Intel Centrino Wireless-N130 device, the only method to switch off the blue led light is by using software. This is where it gets funky.
The WiFi light can only be switched off by using the "Samsung Control Centre" application. The "Samsung Control Centre" has a Wireless Network section. The "Samsung Wireless Network" will crash after Windows 7 boots up if the Windows WLAN AutoConfig service and Windows Wireless Network Connection are disabled. Similarly the "Samsung Control Centre" will crash if you try to access the Wireless Network section if the Windows WLAN AutoConfig service and Windows Wireless Network Connection are disabled.
Consequently, to turn off the WiFi LED it is necessary to actually enable Windows WLAN AutoConfig service and Windows Wireless Network Connection, which is exactly what I do not want to do because this then searches for local WiFi connections.
The Samsung WiFi function key fn12 seems to not work. It does not switch the WiFi off or on.
I have contacted Samsung by email. They have not been able to provide a solution. Samsung has not stated if the WiFi LED indicates that WiFI radiation is being transmitted.
Samsung's support contact is not working on several international sites, the "Next" button is grayed out. Samsung's email address [email protected] has been unresponsive and has recently started bouncing emails.
Does anyone have solutions and answers to the questions in this post?

Is there an option in the BIOS to remember the last wireless setting?
Also try reinstalling the Samsung WiFi driver / software and also the Easy Settings (or equivalent) software.

The Series 9 models currently have no option to disable WiFi on reboot. Samsung UK support could only suggest disabling the wireless devices in Device Manager.

When the Samsung website finally worked (after many weeks) they eventually entered an email chain of various suggestions which did not switch off the WiFi LED - until they suggested installing their software and enabling Eco Mode. In Eco Mode the blue WiFI switches off about 1-2 minutes after boot up.
It's unclear if there is some WiFi transmission activity when the WiFI LED is on. -
Have you tried deleting the wifi drivers in programs & features alone with in Device Manager and keeping a copy of the drivers on an external device for when you want them or resell the laptop.
